At Blue Sky Assisted Living in Chandler we believe the best care comes in a home like setting. We have created an intimate setting that is much like a family. The caregivers and residents eat meals together and play games and watch TV together. The meals are prepared and everyone sits and eats as a family. In this environment resident’s needs are known and met much more easily. There is not staff that is changing every eight hours and 20 residents per caregiver. It is like parents watching their child versus day care.
Assisted living facilities have their place such as when a person is very independent and has saved enough money to pay for expensive elaborate facility and activities and the cruise ship retirement experience.
As a person loses mobility and independence they can tend to get lost in a large facility. Often when we have gotten residents that have been in a large facilities and had started to deteriorate due to lack of one on one care and attention we see a huge improvement as they get the more attentive care we provide. We know each resident and their favorite meals, snacks, and dislikes so we can accommodate accordingly. We know what activities they enjoy and how to get them involved. Most importantly we know their personalities so well that we can pick up on signs of sickness, depression, and medication effects like a mother would with her own child.
